Privacy Policy

Number Within (“Number Within,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates numberwithin.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you browse the Site, use our Life Path Number calculator, contact us, subscribe to communications, or place an order. It also explains the choices and rights that may be available to you.

Information we collect

We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the Site, and from service providers that help us operate our store. The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Website and device information

When you visit the Site, our servers and website tools may automatically collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, time zone, referring page, pages and products viewed, cart and checkout activity, timestamps, cookie or session identifiers, and diagnostic logs. We use this information to load the Site, keep it secure, remember your cart, understand Site performance, and measure how customers find and use the store.

Order and transaction information

When you place or attempt to place an order, we may collect your name, email address, phone number if provided, billing and shipping addresses, the products and Life Path Number selected, order notes, order and refund history, shipping and tracking information, payment status, and information used to detect fraud or misuse.

Payment card or digital-wallet credentials are processed by the payment provider presented at checkout. We generally receive confirmation of payment, a transaction identifier, the amount paid, and limited billing details rather than your full payment card number. The payment provider’s own privacy notice also applies to its processing.

Customer care and communications

If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, order number, message, and any photos or other information you choose to provide. We use this information to answer questions, help with delivery or returns, investigate damaged or incorrect items, and maintain a record of our correspondence.

Marketing information

If you choose to subscribe to marketing communications, we may collect your email address, subscription source, preferences, and information about how you interact with those communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us.

Life Path Number calculator

The calculator uses the month, day, and year you enter only to calculate and display your Life Path Number in your browser. The calculator does not submit that birth date to Number Within or store it. If you later contact us or place an order, information you choose to provide through those separate actions is handled as described in this policy.

How we use personal information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Site and its features.
  • Process orders, payments, refunds, returns, shipping, and delivery.
  • Make your selected product and communicate about your order.
  • Respond to questions, requests, complaints, and customer care matters.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms.
  • Understand Site performance, shopping activity, and order attribution so we can improve our products and services.
  • Send marketing communications when permitted and in line with your choices.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, legal, and regulatory obligations and establish or defend legal claims.

How we share personal information

We share personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including with:

  • Website, hosting, and infrastructure providers that help us run and secure our WordPress and WooCommerce store.
  • Payment providers that authorize and process transactions and help prevent fraud.
  • Production, fulfillment, shipping, and delivery providers that help make, package, and deliver orders.
  • Email and customer-care providers that help us send service messages, respond to requests, or send marketing you have chosen to receive.
  • Analytics and measurement providers, if enabled, that help us understand Site use and order sources.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers, auditors, and legal advisers.
  • Authorities and other parties when disclosure is required by law, needed to protect rights or safety, or necessary to prevent fraud or security threats.
  • A successor or transaction partner in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

Some recipients act on our instructions, while others process information under their own privacy notices. We do not sell personal information for money. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any choice required by law.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device. We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies for:

  • Essential functions: security, session management, cart contents, checkout, order processing, and remembering privacy choices.
  • Preferences and performance: remembering settings, improving speed, and diagnosing errors.
  • Measurement and order attribution: understanding visits, referral sources, and the path that led to an order.
  • Marketing: measuring or personalizing marketing where such tools are enabled and permitted.

Some cookies end when you close your browser; others remain for a set period. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart, checkout, or other parts of the Site from working correctly. Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential technologies, we will request it before using them.

Legal bases for processing

If the laws of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction require us to identify a legal basis, we generally rely on:

  • Contract: to process and fulfill your order and provide requested services.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site; provide customer care; prevent fraud; and understand our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: for optional marketing, non-essential cookies, or other processing where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, consumer-protection, law-enforcement, and other legal requirements.

International data transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or approved contractual protections.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfill orders, provide support, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with law. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the reason it was collected. For example, order records may be kept for the period required by tax, accounting, warranty, chargeback, and consumer-protection rules; marketing information is kept until you unsubscribe or we no longer need it.

When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it, subject to legal and technical limitations such as backup cycles.

Automated decision-making

Number Within does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you. Payment and fraud-prevention providers may use automated checks to approve, decline, or review transactions under their own policies.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and give you access to it.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete information.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Provide certain information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, or sharing practices where those rights apply.

You may also have the right to appeal a decision about your request or complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights are not absolute, and we may need to retain information when the law permits or requires it.

To make a request, use our Contact Us page or email hello@numberwithin.com. Tell us which right you want to exercise and provide enough information for us to locate the relevant records. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Marketing choices

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send non-promotional messages about an order, account, security issue, or request.

California and other U.S. state privacy rights

If a state privacy law applies to Number Within and to your information, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sale, sharing, profiling, or targeted-advertising activities. Applicable rights and exceptions vary by state. Submit a request using the contact details above.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it. If you are under the age at which you can enter a binding contract where you live, use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send full payment card numbers or other unnecessary sensitive information through our contact form or email.

Do Not Track and preference signals

Because there is no consistent industry standard for responding to browser “Do Not Track” signals, the Site may not respond to them. Where applicable law requires us to recognize an opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat the signal as a request for the browser or device that sends it.

Third-party links

The Site may link to websites or services that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. Review those notices before providing personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, technology, services, or legal obligations. We will post the revised version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where required.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.

Contact us

For privacy questions or requests, email hello@numberwithin.com or use our Contact Us page. If your request concerns an order, include the order number and the email address used at checkout, but do not send full payment card details.
